Seth Pyrzynski - Esports Live Product Director

I was the Product Owner and Live Product Director.  In my role, I lead the live events management, player management, and live operations teams. Developed, managed, and reconciled the Madrid, Spain 2018 EU LCS Summer Finals budget, 1.75MM€.

Managed live broadcast production partner, TV Skyline, and Concom, our production partner. I was the creative producer, bringing the live show together as a Riot Games EU publishing product and live production, live streaming globally to 13 countries.

The Summer Finals were held at the Palacio Vistalegre, a venue that seats 15,000 spectators, on September 8-9. The event featured both the third and fourth-place decider matches and the grand finals for the EU LCS Summer season. Teams battled not only for prize money but also for championship points as they prepared for the League of Legends World Championship. The final team standing earned the top European seed to the championships in South Korea.

Fnatic, the reigning European champions from the Spring season and finals, had previously fallen short in the Mid-Season Invitational, achieving 3rd/4th place. The team was certainly looking to hold their crown and earn the best seed possible for Worlds.

The 2018 EU LCS Summer Season ran from June 15th to August 18th and was held live at the Riot Games studios in Berlin, Germany.

This event marked one of the last competitions for some organizations as Riot Games moved Europe to a franchise format along with the NA LCS. Organizations in and out of the EU LCS submitted proposals to bid on a position in the new league before it would launch with a newly redesigned brand in the 2019 season.
